BAYFIELD FAIR STARTS TODAY

The 161st Bayfield Fair kicks off today (Friday) and runs all weekend. All weekend there will be vendors and a midway, but tonight features a ribfest and fireworks. Bayfield Fair President Doug Yeo says there is lots happening on Saturday.

CRA SCAMS STILL HAPPENING IN HURON COUNTY

The OPP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre continue to receive reports of scams which involves two variations. The one scam claims inconsistencies from past filed taxes and requires repayment right away through a variety of methods including pre-paid cards or even gift cards.

BLUEWATER COUNCIL VOTES TO GET RID OF ICE AT BAYFIELD ARENA

The Bayfield Arena may no longer have an ice surface following a decision from Bluewater council. Council has recently passed a motion to remove the ice from the Bayfield Arena following the 2018 season, and all of council voted in favour of the motion except Bayfield ward Councillor Bill Whetstone.

CITIZEN HELPS POLICE BUST IMPAIRED DRIVER

A call from a concerned citizen helped Huron County Provincial get an erratic driver off the roadways over the weekend. Police say they got the call around 9:30 PM on Sunday (Aug 13) about the vehicle that was parked at the Harvey's in Central Huron.
