The OPP has already investigated three boating fatalities this spring, and alcohol or drug consumption was involved in two of the incidents and only one the three deceased was wearing a life jacket.Unfortunately for the OPP, the numbers are all to commons, as in 2016 16 operators and 7 passengers...

Perth OPP has received two recent reports of damage at the Morenz Park area on Huron Road and Blanchard Street in West Perth. Police say the first report was on May 10th, as a statue of a crane had been knocked off its pedestal and was broken.

Another long weekend is upon us and there is always the question fo what is open and what is closed. The Municipal Offices in the area are closed, along with LCBO and beer store locations, and there will also be no mail delivery. Schools, banks, and local libraries will also be closed.

WATER SAFETY TIPS FOR THE LONG WEEKEND

With the long weekend here many people will be returning to the waterways to enjoy some fun and soak up some sun. Boats of all sizes will be out on the Lakes and waterways and the OPP will be out patrolling to prevent offenses and encourage water safety.
