This week is Powerline Safety Week. Across the province, thousands of people are working in close proximity to powerlines. Chief Public Safety Officer Scott Saint says many people underestimate the power running through wires in our homes and communities. He says even getting too close to a powerline can cause serious injury or kill a person. Saint says in order to stay safe you need to recognize where they are.

If you see a powerline, make sure you move at least three feet away. He says in the last 10 years, 23 people have died in Ontario from contacts with powerlines. For more information you can visit www.esasafe.com.
