REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
7/13/2017 10:27:48 AM

There's good news as far as Employment in our area; the Region has the second-lowest Unemployment Rate in Canada. Only Manitoba's Interlake Region has a lower Unemployment Rate than our area, coast-to-coast. Their figure is 3.1 percent. The Unemployment Rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Region stood at 3.5 percent for the month of June, 2017. That's well below the Provincial average of 6.2 percent for the same timeframe, and a full three percentage points below the Canada average unemployment rate of 6.5 percent. The month-to-month figure saw Unemployment in the Region decline a full percentage point from the rate for May, 2017, while a year ago the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Region reported the Unemployment Rate as standing at 4.8 percent.
