A 24-year-old man got hit with not just one charge but two following a traffic stop on July 9th. A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police Officer noticed a Volkswagen Jetta traveling westbound on Highway 8 at a very high rate of speed. The officer used a radar device to determine the man was driving 50 km/hr over the 80 km/hr speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer detected the odor of alcohol on the driver's breath and noticed some signs of impairment. The man was arrested and transported to a local police detachment, where he provided two samples that tested over the legal limit.The Clinton man now faces impaired driving charges and a charge for racing and has lost his license for 90 days, and his vehicle was also impounded for a week.
