Bad news as Perth County has its first positive finding of West Nile virus. The Perth District Health Unit has been trapping and testing mosquitoes since June, and recent tests from a trap in Mitchell has come back positive.
Not everyone who is bitten by an infected mosquito will show symptoms. Those that do could experience a fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, a skin rash and occasionally vomiting and nausea. So far this year there have been four probable or confirmed case of West Nile virus.
