A recent recall will have you scrambling to ensure your fire extinguisher isn't involved. The recall involves Kidde-branded and Garrison branded fire extinguishers. The extinguishers are plastic handle and push-button pindicator extinguishers. The plastic handle extinguishers were sold from January 1st of 1973 to August 15th of 2017 at various retailers, while the push-button pindicator extinguisher was sold from August 11th, 1995 to September 22, 2017, at various retailers. Over 1 million units of each extinguisher were sold in Canada, and the recall says the extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge, and the nozzle may discharge with too much force which can be hazardous. In Canada, there have been 2 reports of limited or failed activation, and one report of property damage, but no injuries, but in the United States there have been 391 reports of limited of failed activation, one fatality, and 16 injuries. Consumers should immediately contact Kidde at 855-233-2882 to request a free replacement fire extinguisher, and to find out the model numbers affected visit
