The area could see some flooding and erosion problems along the Lake Huron Shoreline according to the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
A strong cold front is expected to move across the watershed today (Thursday) and bring freezing conditions, snow, and high winds. Due to the cold front strong winds, combined with above-average long-term water levels on Lake Huron will result in higher than normal waves hitting the shoreline areas, which could result in minor flooding in low-lying areas and erosion to the lakeshore bluffs. The ABCA reminded everyone to stay away from breaking waves and to approach top-of-bluff areas with caution during and immediately after the storm. The warning from the ABCA will remain in effect until at least 9 AM on Saturday, November 11th.
