Lucan Biddulph is already ahead of the game when it come to the 2018 budget season. The Municipality has already held a council meeting regarding the matter to go over each department's 'wish list' for the 2018 budget. Mayor of Lucan Biddulph Cathy Burghart Jesson says that are aiming for a 0% increase in the budget, but that may not happen.
Jesson is referring to the bill that would increase minimum wage to $15/hr. One provision that is causing headaches is a requirement that on-call workers, like fire fighters, be paid 3 hours for on-call shifts even if they don't end up working.
