Today is the 28th anniversary of the L'Ecole Polytechnique murders in Montreal. Today is also the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Unfortunately, violence remains a daily struggle for many women and girls in society, but the Huron County Provincial Police remain committed to helping fight violence against women. The local OPP have teamed up with community partners including the Huron Women's Shelter, Victim Services Huron County, Huron-Perth Centre, Domestic Assault Review Team and Victim Witness Assistance Program to help support victims of domestic abuse and prevent further occurrences in the future.
