A local politician is tackling the issue of lyme disease spreading faster and more out of control. Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson wants to see the government step up it's tracking efforts, and finally identify Mid-Western Ontario as a hot-spot for ticks carrying lyme disease. Thompson says that finding ways to prevent lyme disease is a personal issue for her and her constituents.

She adds that the Government currently doesn't have an up-to-date map which identifies her riding as an area at risk of ticks with lyme disease. She has tabled a motion in queens park to update their data collection techniques and hopes to have it pass next year.
