GRAND BEND CHAMBER ON MINIMUM WAGE HIKE

    The increase of the minimum wage will ultimately be a good thing, that's according to the Glenn Baillie, Grand Bend Chamber of Commerce President. Baillie says that while it will boost consumer spending power, it's not without costs to businesses.

     Baillie adds that he suspects we could see a decrease in the amount of summer jobs usually occupied by first time workers, because business owners just may not have the patience to deal with paying 14 bucks and hour to someone new to the workforce.
