FANSHAWE POLITICAL SCIENCE PROFESSOR TALKS DOUG FORD

The Ontario Progressive Conservatives have gotten their new leader as Former Toronto Councilor Doug Ford beat out the competition over the weekend. Political Science Professor at Fanshawe College Matt Farrell says he wasn't surprised with the Ford victory, as he has done well in Toronto, he is controversial and has popular appeal. Farrell says the Ford seems to have all the qualities that a Conservative leader has been lacking as he can relate to all voters.

Ford beat out three other competitors: Caroline Mulroney, Christine Elliott, and Tanya Granic Allen. Farrell says that polling suggests that voters are looking for a change and anyone but the current government would do.
