Today (April 12) the Avon Maitland District School Board is encouraging all staff and students to wear jerseys. Director of Education at the Avon Maitland District School Board, Lisa Walsh, explains why the school board is getting involved in Jersey Day.

Walsh says there is no cost as the day isn't about raising funds or taking pictures but rather about standing in solidarity with the Humboldt Broncos and their families. She adds that she expected a huge impact from all schools in the board as everyone is talking about the tragedy, and this is a way to show support. All schools in the AMDSB will be lowering their flags to half-staff at the start of the day tomorrow to honour the victims of the bus crash.
