Downtown Hensall is looking to get a revitalization in 2019.

The $60,000 plan looks to improve the facade of the downtown and make the area more vibrant.

Karen Rickers is the Coordinator for the project with the Community Development Services of Bluewater and says that they are still in the process of securing funding.


Rickers says that they are also looking to raise money from other funds from the Huron Economic development fund, as well as funds from Bluewater community improvement program. Part of the plan also sets out to support new businesses by setting up a contest for a new storefront in the downtown Businesses will compete for a paid-for $10,000 lease and also receive training through the Huron Small business centre on how to operate a small business. The space up for grabs in the contest has yet to be announced.
