Not guilty! That was the plea that 73-year-old Boris Panovski gave the court as his trial got underway in Goderich. Panovski is facing charges of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Don Frigo and the attempted murder of his wife in 2014 at the Hullet Wildlife Conservation Area near Clinton. Panovski maintained his innocence as he communicated his plea through a Macedonia interpreter. The length of the trial is now expected to be eight to ten week as potentially 70 witnesses could take the stand.

Justice Joseph Donohue is overseeing the trial but currently, the testimony and evidence is under a publication band. It is expected that jury selection could take the rest of the week with the trial getting underway next week. myFM will keep you updated on any development in the case.
