LOCAL FRAUDSTER STEALS OVER $1 MILLION DOLLARS

    A local woman is out over $1 million dollars due to a scammer according to Huron County Provincial Police. In September of 2017 police were contacted by a family who claimed that a member of their family was being frauded out of her life savings. Investigators spoke with the victim and learned that the accused borrowed large sums of money from the victim using deceit and other fraudulent means. It was also discovered that the accused wrote a number of non-sufficient funds cheques to the victim. On June 6th police arrested 60-year-old Roswitha Wiggerman from Huron-Kinloss. She is facing charges of fraud over $5000 dollars, making a forged document, uttering a forged document, and for making a false statement in writing. She will be back in a Goderich court on July 16th.
