Today we are profiling Mary Ellen Coombs. Coombs teaches at Blessed Carlo Acutis – a remote learning centre in the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board.
Coombs says here interest in teaching started at a very young age.
As she enters her 29th year teaching Coombs says she remains passionate about literacy.
Asked what advice she has for young people contemplating entering
the teaching profession Coombs says teaching isn’t a job, it’s a vocation.
Coombs says during the remote stretches of learning during the pandemic
it’s been wonderful to witness how her junior kindergarten students have
rallied and how supportive parents and caregivers have been.
