It’s been a long time coming but South Huron council has voted to renovate the South Huron Rec Centre.
During Monday night’s council meeting, a close 4-3 vote determined that council will move forward with the renovations at an estimated price tag of $12.3 million.
Renovations will include six new dressing rooms, updates to the lobby, kitchen and boards, as well as the inclusion of a walking track, gymnasium and second floor multi-purpose room.
The councilors who voted in favor were Mayor George Finch, and councilors Neeb, Willard, and Oke, while Deputy Mayor Jim Dietrich, and councilors Vaughan and Faubert voted against the motion.
