
It is Fire Prevention Week, and St Mary’s started their week a little early on September 28th, until October 9th.
This year the theme is “Get Loud!” as a reminder to test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
From the 28th until the 9th they are having a few different challenges and events, with a colouring contest, a Cindy’s Law “Fire Extinguisher Giveaway”, a chance to meet Sparky and some firefighters at Your Independent Grocers, and door to door visits with swag bags.
Throughout the week the Fire Department will be updating their social media daily with tips and tricks about the sounds of fire safety.

September 28 – October 9th: Get Loud! Colouring Contest. To find the colouring sheet visit the link below, and then submit it to communications@town.stmarys.on.ca or drop it off at the Fire Hall on or before October 9, 2021. Printed versions are also available to pick up at the St. Marys Fire Hall
October 4th – Sparky Visit and Swag Bag Booth. Firefighters and Sparky will be Your Independent Grocer in St. Marys from 10am to 2pm with reusable bags filled with information about fire safety and swag.
October 6 – Annual Door to Door Visits. St. Marys firefighters will be visiting 1000 St. Marys homes in one night to hand out 2021 Swag Bags and help educate the town on the importance of fire safety!
