The Province of Ontario has extended the emergency orders in place under the Reopening Act until at least March 28 2022.
The Act gives Premier Doug Ford and his government the power to implement rules on public gatherings, business closures, and to manage outbreaks at hospitals and long-term care homes.
The orders were set to expire before being extended through a motion by Solicitor General Sylvia Jones on Tuesday.
28 current orders are in effect under the reopening act, including the proof of vaccination system.
The Province recently halted the next step of the reopening plan due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.
