A Perth East man is facing charges following an investigation into the sale of counterfeit antique money.
Police received a report on January 26th from a victim who had purchased the funny money using an online ecommerce website.
The same day the suspect was arrested, and on January 27th a search warrant was conducted at a Mill Street West property in Perth East.
45 year old James Robb is facing charges for possession of counterfeit money, advertising and dealing with counterfeit money and failure to comply.
Police believe there may be other victim.
The Perth County OPP is also encouraging the public to be cautious when purchasing items through ecommerce websites, like Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace.
If a sale seems too good to be true, it probably is. Never send money before seeing the product, nd if the item has a serial number, check to see if it has been reported as stolen by using the Canadian Police Information Centre (C.P.I.C.) for the public website, at: http://www.cpic-cipc.ca/index-eng.htm
