Hensall Co-op is screaming with joy for their new product, The Screaming Chef meals.
The meals are made locally and are made fresh and never frozen using a new technology from Sweden called ‘Micvac’, Amir NaveedĀ General Manager of Hensall Foods tells myFM
This type of packaging allows the meals to have a 60 day shelf life without impacting the taste, quality and nutrients of the food.
Some of the meals include “lip-smackin’ Chicken and Noodles” “Here’s the beef Fajita Bowl” “Larger than Life Shrimp and Rice” and many more options including more seafood.
Hensall is on course to introduce a small lunch sized meals that will include new meals including shepherds pie, southwest taco chicken and garlic alfredo shrimp.
The food goes into the trays raw, and are cooked at 100 degrees Celsius. This type of cooking creates a natural vacuum seal which keeps the meals fresh and jam packed with nutrients longer. Naveed says it’s just like you cooked it from scratch. This also means the meals are cooked without preservatives and additives.
The name “The Screaming Chef” comes from the process it takes to cook the meals. Once done cooking, the packaging lets off a ‘scream’ to let you know it’s finished.
They have also come out with a vegan option that is based off of plant protein.
Naveed also mentioned that Hensall Foods’ will be coming out with a ‘lunch sized’ meal. The original meals are 400g and the lunch sized ones will be 300g.
