Farm Credit Canada is giving $1.5 million to 85 community groups across Canada to support rural capital projects.
The money is coming from the FCC AgriSpirit Fund, and between $5000 and $25 thousand was given to projects that enrich the lives of the community in rural centres with less than 150 thousand people.
Locally the Forest Agricultural Society received $20 thousand to purchase new coolers, and an on-demand water heater for the fairgrounds.
The St. Joseph’s Kingbridge Community in Goderich also received $19 thousand for upgrades to the community centres front entrance to improve accessibility.
Over the past 19 years FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund has supported over 1500 projects with an investment over $19.5 million.
