An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, West Grey Police Service, Huron OPP, and OPP West Region Emergency Response Team resulted in a traffic stop and the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, a prohibited weapon, and offense-related property with a total value exceeding $18,000.
On February 22nd, at about 8:20 pm, a vehicle was pulled over on Josephine Street in Wingham.
As a result, police seized a prohibited knife, ammunition, and Canadian cash. Police also found cocaine, fentanyl, and meth at a combined street value of about $13,480. The combined estimated value of the seized property is $1,760.00. Canadian currency seized is $2,790.00.

Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order
Unauthorized possession of a weapon – (spring-loaded knife)
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, in Goderich.

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, in Goderich.
