The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Center received a donation of 1,400 kilograms of chicken on Tuesday (May 23) from the Chicken Farmers of Ontario, in partnership with Yorkshire Valley Farms.
Executive Director of the food bank Mary Ellen Zielman says that the donation will provide a much needed protein for many of the people that make use of their services.
CFO Board Director Andrea Veldhuizen said that the donation will go a long way,
The importance of giving back to the community was something that everyone can agree on, said President and CEO of Yorkshire Valley Farms James Sculthorpe,
According to MPP Lisa Thompson, the donation will provide up to 12,000 meals to people in the community.
The donation will provide much needed meals to those that need it most, said MP Ben Lobb, as our community and others across the country grapple with the rising cost of living.
