
Huron Shores Area Transit saw a a 46% increase in ridership in the first quarter of 2023, with almost 1000 more trips taken from January to April this year.
If the pattern of ridership continues, Huron Shores Area Transit is well on it’s way to meeting it’s goal of 16,000 trips by the end of this year – they’re well on pace to reach 23,000, with predicted sustainability being reached at 35,000 trips per year.
Huron Shores Area Transit is working to distribute information to local municipalities by providing literature at library branches, government offices, and social agencies. Brochures can be provided free of charge by contacting Huron Shores Area Transit.
In the coming weeks, Huron Shores Area Transit will be attending several events to educate the public about their services – they will be preset at “Discover North Middlesex” at the Middlesex Arena in Parkhill on Saturday, June 10th from 11-3, and at the “Aging Friendly Expo” on Wednesday, June 14th at the Pat Stapleton Arena in Sarnia. Both events are completely free.
