In a bid to modernize their fundraising efforts, the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre has installed new Tip Tap machines at various locations throughout the area.
Executive Director Mary Ellen Zielman says that with cash transactions becoming increasingly uncommon, the initiative is a move to adapt to changing trends and provide an easier and more convenient way for people to donate,
Currently, seven Tip Tap machines have been installed at various locations, including Ironwood Golf Course, Macleans Home Hardware, and Foodland in Exeter.
Zielman says that the way people donate to non-profits is different now than it once was,
Zielman noted that donations are vital throughout the year, even during the summer months.
While people may be preoccupied with vacations and other activities, there are families in need – especially with children home from school requiring additional care and attention from caregivers.
