Huron County OPP are currently conducting a thorough investigation into an armed robbery that transpired at a business on Main Street North in Exeter last night (July 30th).
On Sunday night at approximately 9:10 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the business and demanded cash at gunpoint. The suspect, who remains unidentified, fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. It is believed that he made his escape in a vehicle parked nearby, just west of the store’s entrance.
Prior to this brazen robbery, at 9:00 p.m., the same suspect was spotted in Huron Park attempting to enter another business armed with a handgun. However, the store had already closed for the night.
Officers were on their way to investigate the earlier attempted robbery when the second incident unfolded in Exeter.
Law enforcement officials are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect. The suspect is described as a male of Caucasian descent, approximately 5′ 8″ tall, and was last seen wearing black patterned shorts, a brown jacket, a black baseball cap, a black face mask, and brown work boots.
Authorities are encouraging witnesses, anyone with potential leads, or those who may have noticed suspicious behavior in the vicinity of the incident to contact the Huron County OPP.
