Our local fire department is always there when you need them most – whether you have a fire, car accident, or a question about your expired fire extinguisher they’re always ready to help.
If you ask South Huron Fire Chief Jeremy Becker, they are far busier this year than usual,
The South Huron Fire Department is largely staffed with volunteers, and Becker says that their unique backgrounds outside of their fire experience helps them respond to calls,
He gave the example of an electrician being well informed about how to handle electrical fires, or farmers knowing how to assist in a silo rescue.
That being said, Becker said that they’re always working on staying up to date to make sure that they can serve the publics needs today, and in the years to come,
As the demand for their services grows, the South Huron Fire Department continues to stand as a steadfast guardian of the community. Their commitment, forged through a blend of skill, diverse expertise, and unyielding passion, serves as a shining example of how local heroes can make a monumental difference in the lives of those they protect.
For more information about how your local fire department serves you, Chief Becker says that their door is always open to the community. Call them, or drop in to learn about how they work every day to keep you safe.
