Coaches make our community a better place – but this coach is invested in making people, the best version of themselves. Brian O’Reilly has decades of coaching under his belt, and his experience as a counsellor and therapist has married his passion for coaching with his passion for people.
As a high performance culture coach, O’ Reilly believes that coaching is all about “teaching people the art of relationship,”- athletes perform better, when they perform together.
Today, Brian works as a coach professionally, working with OHL and NHL teams, international sports teams, and presently the Windsor Spitfires. He says that coaching in his opinion has nothing to do with athletic skill – to be a good coach is to be invested in the needs of other people, and distance yourself from self interest.
He says that discovering what moves people away from quality, feeling good, and being successful, and figuring out how to help people get out of their own way is really his job.
O’Reilly says that he tries to do as much as possible for the community for as little money as he can because “money doesn’t make me happy, people do,”.
