A raging fire broke out at F.I.N.E. A Restaurant located on Highway 21 in Grand Bend earlier this afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Lambton Shores Fire Department.
In response to the emergency, all four lanes of traffic on Highway 21 were temporarily closed, causing significant disruptions to the flow of traffic heading into the long weekend.
Although Lambton Shores Fire Department managed to bring the blaze under control, firefighters were spotted using axes to access the restaurant’s roof once the fire had been extinguished. Extensive structural damage is suspected, although it remains unconfirmed at this time.
Currently, the OPP have managed to reopen two lanes of traffic, but the situation in Grand Bend continues to unfold. Authorities are urging residents and onlookers to stay clear of the area to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
