As the result of changes to the Province’s education bill at the end of July, school boards must provide the public with a summary of what is being taught to educators during PA days – and local school boards have officially posted their plans for September 5th.
The Tuesday after labour day will not be a regular school day for children, but instead, educators at our local school boards will be brushing up on changes to the language curriculum, how to support students through the destreaming of grade nine, as well as mental health supports for students coming out of the pandemic.
Both Huron Perth Catholic and Avon Maitland District School boards also expressed interest in mathematics development.
Avon Maitland will additionally be focussing on anti-sex trafficking and cyber protection training, in an effort to bring educators up to date on safety in the digital age.
