South Huron Firefighters at a boot drive on Friday
South Huron Fire Department is on the lookout for new recruits.
According to South Huron Fire Chief Jeremy Becker, volunteer firefighting is a rewarding opportunity – due to the tight knit nature of our community, volunteers often know people on scene when they’re responding to an emergency call,
They’re having a volunteer firefighting information session tomorrow evening, in Dashwood.
Interested community members can come out and see what the commitment is to become a firefighter, what kind of training is required, and get to know their comrades.
He also says they do a lot of fun things besides fighting fires and responding to emergencies,
If you’re interested in learning more about volunteer firefighting and whether you have what it takes, you can attend their volunteer recruitment session tomorrow to get a taste of how you can serve your community.
