It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks play Thamesford tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Jackson McLlwain is the Exeter Hawks’ left-winger and team captain, at 20 years old, he has come back home to Exeter after several years on other PJHL teams. When asked about his return, he mentioned how it feels different, as he’s spent most of his career playing in other towns.
Hockey runs deep in Jackson’s family, and playing is a natural thing for him.
Regarding the local fans, Jackson noted the shift in the past few years when he played away from home. Now that he’s back with the Hawks, he can feel the support from the community, especially from those who have been following his journey.
As the captain of his hometown team, Jackson hopes to unite the team and guide them to victory.
Jackson also shared his aspirations beyond hockey. He’s determined to finish his last two years with the Hawks and pursue a career as a licensed carpenter.
