In a celebration of community and educational support, Hensall Co-op is proud to unveil the recipients of its third annual Bright Futures Scholarship.
Brad Chandler, the CEO of Hensall Co-op, expressed his excitement in congratulating the scholarship recipients, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to community and personal growth. “Hensall Co-op values community and personal growth, which is why the Bright Futures Scholarships allow us to directly impact and support the education of our members’ families. We are proud to be Farmer Owned and proud to support education,” he remarked.
Abigail Peel, from Turnberry Township, is destined for the University of Alberta, where she will embark on a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering Co-op program. Abigail’s aspirations include taking on leadership roles and advocating for small communities, ensuring their voices are heard in environmental matters.
Nicole Vermue, from Bluewater, has set her course for the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, pursuing an Associate Diploma in Agriculture. Her goal is to support the agricultural community by inspiring younger generations through volunteering and involvement in agricultural fundraisers.
Saarah Amir, also from Bluewater, is headed to the University of Ottawa for a Bachelor of Health Science Honors. Her dreams involve becoming a doctor and contributing to medical research and treatments in rural and underdeveloped communities.
The Hensall Co-op Bright Futures Scholarship underscores its commitment to post-secondary education by offering financial support to students entering their first year. These students exhibit a keen interest in agriculture or fields that advance rural communities and economies.
This coming year, three exceptional individuals will each receive a $2,500 scholarship. The program is open to children or grandchildren of Hensall Co-op members or employees as of March 1.
