St. Marys Memorial Hospital is set to experience a temporary reduction in its Emergency Department services. This sudden change is due to a sudden staff shortage, and will be in effect from 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, November 17), until 7 a.m. on Saturday (November 18). Following this brief closure, the department will resume its regular 24-hour daily operations.
For immediate medical attention during the temporary closure, individuals are advised to dial 9-1-1. Paramedics will remain on call and will be rerouting to the nearest available Emergency Department.
Those with non-urgent health concerns are encouraged to contact Health Connect Ontario at 811, a service available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
During this period, the closest 24-hour Emergency Departments include Stratford General Hospital, South Huron Hospital in Exeter, Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll, and LHSC – University Hospital or Victoria Hospital in London. Residents are advised to confirm these Emergency Departments’ regular hours before seeking assistance.
