In the spirit of festive joy and community celebration, the South Huron Community Choirs are gearing up for their much-anticipated Christmas concerts.
This year’s event promises a musical treat with two concerts scheduled. The first, on December 1st at 7 pm, will enchant audiences at Exeter United Church. The second, a Sunday matinee on December 3rd at 3:30 pm, will take place at the Oakwood Inn.
Led by director Richard Heinzle, the inspiration behind this year’s theme is as heartwarming as the season itself.
The choirs aim to continue the 150th anniversary celebration with a repertoire that reflects the town’s rich musical history.
The concert will traverse a musical journey from the 18th century to present-day, incorporating a diverse range of styles and singalongs.
The concert will not only be a celebration of Christmas but also a showcase of the wealth of talent in the local community. From Coldplay’s Chris Martin to Exeter’s own Justin Bieber, the repertoire promises a delightful mix of old and new Christmas favorites.
This year’s event is particularly special as it marks the first-ever participation of the children’s choir.
For those eager to attend, tickets are available at local shops and directly from choir members. The concert promises something for everyone, making it an ideal outing for all ages. Join the South Huron Choirs in celebrating 150 years of Christmas in Exeter—a musical journey through time and local talent.
