A pair of local students are looking to do some fundraising for a local charity in a fun and active way, by hosting a badminton tournament!
Sophia Buckman & Bria McCann, students at South Huron District High School in Exeter came up with the idea a few weeks ago and Bria mentioned how the idea came to be.
Sophia says they wrote up a letter seeking donations from local businesses, raffle prizes and it has lead to some success.
They are still hoping to get out there more, and are looking for more donations.
They are about 60% of the way toward their goal of collecting donations.
Bria says they even got some sponsors to help them out!
The games will take place at South Huron in the large gym, on Saturday December 16th from 12-5pm, and everyone is guaranteed to play two games.
There will also be music and food to keep everyone energized and upbeat!
The pair is getting help from their teacher Mr. Colborne, and help from kindness project, ecoexeter, and their school radio station.
All the funds raised will be going to Jessica’s House.
