Huron County Council has made the decision to strike the Heritage Fund and discontinue it’s use for recipients, as of their last meeting in mid-December.
Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil brought the topic up for discussion among the council.
Reeve of North Huron, Paul Heffer was the one to present the motion, stating the funds could be put to better use.
Central Huron Deputy Mayor, Marg Anderson was quick to agree to the motion.
Huron East Mayor Bernie MacLellan brought up his thoughts on the subject from the standpoint of the past warden.
By the end of the discussion The Council of the County of Huron made the decision to discontinue the Huron Heritage Fund.
