On February 22nd, members of Huron County OPP teamed up with staff from the Municipal office in South Huron and walked along Main Street in Exeter to talk with business owners and community members.
Inspector Jason Younan, Staff Sergeant Ryan Olmstead, South Huron Deputy Mayor Jim Dietrich (who is also the Chair of the South Huron Police Services Board), and South Huron Chief Administrative Officer Rebekah Msuya-Collison joined uniform officers and detectives.
The goal of this initiative was to meet with business owners and community members, addressing their concerns and answering questions and to discuss the “CAMSAFE” program.
This program encourages businesses and homeowners to register their video surveillance systems voluntarily, which allows investigators to save time by reaching out to registered companies or individuals willing to work with the police to solve crimes.
More information can the program can be found at www.camsafe.ca
