We’re looking at Heather Holme Holsteins, a family-run dairy farm located just north of Goderich. The farm has been a cornerstone of the community for generations. Founded by Cliff McNeil, the farm has grown under the stewardship of his grandson Curtis McNeil, who now operates the farm alongside his parents Glen and Amanda, his wife Kathy, and their four children: Sam, Beth, James, and Clark. The farm continues to uphold the values and traditions passed down through three generations, maintaining a focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation.
The name “Heather Holme” traces its origins back to the Heatherington family, the previous owners of the neighboring farm. When Cliff McNeil purchased the property, he was inspired by the name inscribed on the bridge and adopted it as the prefix for the dairy cattle, a tradition that has endured.
Today, Heather Holme Holsteins milks 85 Holsteins, with plans for future expansion, and also operates a cash crop and Angus cattle business on the side. The farm’s primary product is fluid milk, produced in partnership with Dairy Farmers of Ontario. Curtis and his family are committed to producing healthy, nutritious milk while also being stewards of the land and advocates for agriculture in Huron County, Ontario, and across Canada.
