Costco’s Kirkland Signature Probiotic Yogurt is being recalled for the second time in a month due to potential contamination with yeast that could pose a health risk to immunocompromised individuals, according to Danone Canada.
The recall affects 24-packs of 100-gram servings purchased in Canada between September 3 and 19, with best-before dates of October 18, 20, and 22. While the food safety risk is considered low since the yeast doesn’t typically grow at refrigerated temperatures, Danone urges customers not to consume the product and return it to Costco for a full refund.
This is the second recall of a Costco yogurt product in a month. Earlier in September, 24-packs of Greek yogurt under the same Kirkland Signature brand were recalled due to mould contamination.
