Lambton County residents will have the chance to safely dispose of hazardous household waste at a mobile collection event this Saturday. Hosted by the County of Lambton Public Works Department and Clean Harbors Canada Inc., the event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 6958 Townsend Line.
This one-day-only collection is free of charge and offers a safe way to dispose of corrosive, toxic, flammable, and reactive materials such as batteries, paint, gasoline, and cleaning fluids.
Matt Deline, Public Works Manager, County of Lambton stressed “these items should never be placed in a regular landfill because they have the potential to injure sanitation workers and the potential to damage our environment.”
It is important to note that certain items like tires, explosives, and commercial or industrial waste will not be accepted.
Residents are also encouraged to separate lithium batteries before drop-off.
