To mark Diabetes Awareness Month, Alexandra Marine & General Hospital (AMGH) has started a special project that brings the community together with hope and a focus on medical progress. The hospital has created a time capsule dedicated to the fight against diabetes.
AMGH invited staff, patients, and visitors to contribute personal items, messages, and keepsakes to the capsule, symbolizing their shared experiences with diabetes. The capsule will stay sealed at the hospital and will only be opened when a cure for diabetes is discovered, showing their commitment to supporting research and patient care.
As part of their efforts, the hospital’s front entrance was lit up in blue throughout November. Diabetes affects millions of people worldwide, including many in the local community. With this project and other initiatives, AMGH aims to raise awareness, strengthen community connections, and inspire hope for a future without diabetes.
