The Perth County OPP and Victim Services Huron Perth are inviting the community to learn about Project Lifesaver at an upcoming information session and demonstration.
Project Lifesaver is a public safety program that helps protect and quickly locate people who may wander and face danger if they become lost. People who are at risk can wear a small wrist transmitter that sends out a radio signal, which can be tracked within a two-kilometer range. This tracking service operates nonstop, every day of the year.
If someone wearing the transmitter goes missing, specially trained Perth County OPP officers use tracking devices to locate them. Victim Services Huron Perth, a partner in this project, is offering new clients a free trial, hoping it will make the service more accessible for families who need it.
Residents and media are invited to see Project Lifesaver in action at an information session in Mitchell on Friday, November 22nd from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at 160 Wellington St, Mitchell (Municipal Office)
