Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged over 950 drivers with impaired driving since starting their Festive RIDE campaign on November 21st.
Officers have been conducting spot checks on roads across the province to reduce drunk driving.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt said that over 950 drivers have been charged with having a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher. In addition, 114 people were taken off the road for having a blood alcohol level between 0.05 and 0.079, which leads to a “warn” range suspension.
