The days are numbered for Justin Trudeau to hold the Prime Minister seat – but Premier Doug Ford wants to make sure those days are productive.
Ford made the comments yesterday after Trudeau’s announcement about stepping down as Prime Minister once the Liberals select a new party leader, saying these next few weeks are crucial with President Donald Trump and tariffs on the horizon.
President-elect Donald Trump has plans for a 25% tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico, citing concerns about border security and drug trafficking.
While the Conservatives have long called for Justin Trudeau to step down, now that he has, they want to make sure Canadians know this is just the first step.
Pierre Poilievre made the comments yesterday following the Prime Ministers announcement.
Poilievre stressed that he believes the Common Sense Conservatives are the nations best choice forward.
The New Democrats have also spoken up regarding Trudeau stepping down – noting it’s not the real solution to Canada’s problems.
Leader Jagmeet Singh says the issue goes to the core of the Liberal party and is not rooted in one man.
He believes that the NDP is the best option to lead the country forward, also slamming the Conservatives and their policies that he believes will just make CEO’s richer.
