An investigation by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, along with the West Region Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Huron County OPP, led to the seizure of weapons and stolen property. Two individuals have been charged with various offenses.
The investigation began in December 2024, eventually led officers to an address in Crediton, South Huron. On January 8th, 2025, police executed a search warrant on Victoria Avenue East in Crediton, resulting in the recovery of stolen property, imitation firearms, knives, brass knuckles, firearm magazines, gun parts, and a stun gun. Two people were arrested and charged.
A 36-year-old from South Huron, has been charged with break and enter, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where he was remanded into custody.
A 43-year-old, from Goderich, faces multiple charges, including two counts of break and enter, nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of possession of prohibited devices or ammunition, six counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, five counts of possession of identity documents, and eight counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was also processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where he was remanded into custody.
