Huron County OPP has charged a Middlesex Centre resident with impaired driving after a RIDE check on January 11th, in Bayfield.
Around 11:45 p.m. on January 11th, officers were conducting the checkpoint on Bluewater Highway at Short Hill Road. A driver approaching the checkpoint was stopped and spoke with police, who determined that the driver had been drinking.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton, where breath samples were collected. The samples indicated the driver was over the legal alcohol limit.
A 39-year-old from Middlesex Centre, has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle due to alcohol and drugs, and impaired operation over the legal alcohol limit. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and Russell’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days.
